Nicholas J. Heiman graduated from Kansas State University in 2002. He then attended Washburn University School of Law where he graduated in 2005. Nicholas served as a prosecutor for Lyon County, Emporia, for almost 6 years, where he gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in DUI and traffic cases, drug cases, and violent crimes. While prosecuting, Nicholas had significant jury trial experience including multiple murder trials.
In 2011, Nicholas left prosecution to join the firm of Miller & Heiman, Chartered, where he focused on criminal defense work. Notably, he most recently obtained a not guilty verdict on 6 counts of aggravated indecent liberties and 1 count of aggravated intimidation of a witness. He has also obtained a not guilty verdict on a possession of methamphetamine charge. Nicholas also has a devoted practice relating to family law, including divorce, child custody and child support cases.
In addition, Nicholas maintains a civil practice related to wills and trusts, probate, and property related matters.
